~ Leisa Way Productions Presents ... Wichita Lineman ~

Newest concert ~ Wichita Lineman: The Music of Glen Campbell is at Talk is Free Theatre (the Mady Centre in Barrie) this Sunday, Dec. 1st at 8:00pm. If you haven't yet had a chance to catch the fabulous Aaron Solomon singing the hits of legendary Glen Campbell in this fantastic show - make it an early Christmas gift for someone you love. The band is killer, (Bruce Ley (keys), Eric Mahar (guitar), Sam Cino (drums) and Randall Kempf bass and guest singer), with Nelson Anselmo on sound -- the chick singer sings Tanya Tucker, Anne Murray and Bobbie Gentry (it's all about the wigs & boots!) but it's the music of Glen Campbell that shines -- from his time as a Beach Boy, to hosting his own TV show (the most successful variety show on TV at the time), to great guests (Randall Kempf as Roger Miller & Kenny Rogers) & Johnny Cash, starring opposite John Wayne in the movie "True Grit", to....all the Jimmy Webb songs Glen turned into #1 hits. Galveston, Gentle on Your Mind, By The Time I Get To Phoenix, Rhinestone Cowboy, Dreams of the Everyday Housewife, Wichita Lineman, Ghost on the Canvas, Try A Little Kindness, Southern Nights, True Grit, and the list goes on and on -- It's a fun night in the theatre!

Tickets: 705-792-1949 or www.tift.ca

~ The Benefits Of Studying Music ~

Music Masters Canada

The study of music has a profound effect on certain areas of the brain, and helps to speed up the development of certain skills, such as language and reasoning, and problem solving.

Learning anything musical takes patience and listening, and in the study of music, you literally fine tune that skill.  How many of us remember taking tests, that if we had listened to the instructions more closely, would have done much better?

Same thing applies to the work place, later in life. And how many of us need to learn greater patience?  Studying music you: get what you put in to it. There is a direct cause and effect relationship.

The satisfaction of knowing that you are improving a skill, is worth it’s weight in gold. When a student looks up and smiles for the first time, after realizing that it’s really working, they are making that beautiful sound, and that they have earned it, is magical. Once that little first moment happens, it’s the love affair that never ends...
