New Executive Director
The Board of Directors of Theatre Collingwood is pleased to announce that Erica Angus has joined the company in the new role of Executive Director. “As Theatre Collingwood launches in new and exciting directions, bringing Erica on board is a key component of our renewal,” said Board Chair Harold Bickerstaff.
Erica comes to Theatre Collingwood from Theatre by the Bay in Barrie. She has extensive experience in the theatre industry having worked for the past ten years as a producer and administrator for a professional theatre company. Erica brings a high level of expertise from her work with professional actors, EQUITY, performers, technical and creative team members. Erica sat on the Board for Tourism Barrie representing the arts and culture sector, with a special focus on marketing and collaborating with hoteliers, restaurants and the arts community to attract tourists. She was also a Founding Member of the Lawn Chair Luminata Arts Festival for the City of Barrie and the Downtown Community Theatre Advisory Committee, helping arts groups build capacity while focusing on the enhancement of the downtown to enrich the quality of life for citizens, businesses and visitors to the City. “We are thrilled to have Erica join our Theatre Collingwood team,” said Harold Bickerstaff. “She brings an amazing wealth of experience and energy to our company. As we get ready to launch our 2013 theatre season, Erica will provide the leadership and artistic direction we need to be successful.” “This is a wonderful opportunity for me,” said Erica Angus. “The company is taking a new direction and I am thrilled to be a part of this experience. And I am looking forward to meeting all of Theatre Collingwood’s dedicated supporters.” Theatre Collingwood is gearing up for a great season of professional live theatre. The 2013 theatre season will see Theatre Collingwood presenting several musicals, comedies and headline performers, reflecting what our surveys said patrons wanted to see on stage. The season will run between June and September and will take centre stage at the “newly renovated” Historic Gayety Theatre. |
