About Our Clinician:


Maria Case...  

holds an ARCT in performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music in Composition from the University of Toronto. Other studies include choral conducting, orchestral condusctin, graduate studies in English literature with a specialty in Middle English literature and sacred poetry, and jazz swtudies at Berklee College in Boston.

Ms. Case has a long association with the Royal Conservatory of Music's College or Examiners, as both a piano and theory examiner. In 2007, she was appointed Chief Examiner of Theoretical Subjects for RCM Examinations. Besides adjudicating piano at festivals and competitions, she is a frequent lecturer of piano and theory pedagogy, and has presented workshops across Canada and the United States. Her articles on various aspects of piano and theory pedagogy have appeared in several publilcations.

She maintains a busy private studio, in which she teaches piano and all theory subjects. She as served as the Music Director of Glebe Road United Church in Toronto since 1991. She is the Music Director of the Annex Singers, a seventhy-voice mixed choir based in downtown Toronto.

Her most recent compositions focus on the voice, including the choral works, song cycles, and several opera libretti.
