Music students from Innisdale Secondary School are featured at the upcoming Seniors Serenade concert, next week.

Karen Parnell and Laura Christie Singer, both music teachers at the school, will be bringing around 45 performers, a mix of solo vocalists, choir, and instrumental musicians from Grade 9, the Grade 11-12 class and the after-school choir.
"There will be some Christmas carols and some choral pieces, some traditional carols, a neat arrangement of Carol of the Bells and a Calypso Carol — it'll make us think of warmer places," said Parnell, who heads up the vocal program at the school. "There's a bit of a Charlie Brown Christmas theme and some other solo pieces for some of the kids who are doing really neat musical things — some are planning on going on in music."
Soloists will include a Grade 10 piano student and a couple of vocal students who are studying classical conservatory and/or taking private lessons to prepare for musical theatre.
Singer looks after the instrumental program. She will be featuring small ensembles from the senior concert band as well as member from the stage band and junior concert band.
Seniors Serenade features an Innisdale Christmas on Dec. 12, at Central United Church (54 Ross St.), starting at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free. Refreshments will follow for $5.
